Cancer policies are eating up brother's retirement income

Q. I wish you would mention something in your newspaper column about cancer insurance policies. My brother in Seattle actually has three cancer policies ...two from one company and one from another. When I question him about these policies (he is always complaining about the insurance premiums he has to pay) he says if he gets cancer at least he wants to die rich. He also has a long-term care policy and Medicare supplemental insurance. All this costs him $510 a month and his retirement check is only $1,255. I think he's being taken advantage of by unscrupulous insurance salesmen...
