AIG CEO Outlines Repayment Plan

In a somewhat tense battle of words, American International Group Chief Executive Edward Liddy said that Congress needs to be a “partner” with the controversial insurer, saying that too much criticism of the company could hinder its ability to return the $170 billion lifeline it has gotten in taxpayer money.

Liddy’s comments came before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, where the CEO was scheduled to give Congress an update on how the insurer is winding down a $2.7 trillion balance sheet...
